1. Mysore

Mysore is yet to, and perhaps will never, get over its past. A past that’s made of kings, queens, conquests, rich patrons, extravagant durbars and pearled hallways must be hard to get over. The streets in Mysore are old and a good part of history can be traced by following their winding paths. The city that gets its name from Mahishasura, the troublemaker demon who was slain by the Goddess Chamundeshwari: whose temple atop the Chamundi Hill watches all over the city has played host to the reign of a long line of Wadiyars, Tipu Sultan and the British Raj.There are somany places to visit in Mysore as The Mysore Palace, Jagan Mohan palace, Lalith Mahal Palace, Mysore Zoo,Chruch and so on.

3. Mangalore

Mangalore is the anglicized version of the name Mangaluru. Premilla, a queen of Malabar, renounced her kingdom and became a disciple of Matsyendranath of the Nath cult. She traveled with her guru towards Mangalore but had to settle near Bolar as she fell ill on the way. Eventually she died there and local people built a temple in reverence to her. The temple was renovated subsequently by an Alupa ruler, Kundavarma during the year 968 AD. Thus the town was known as Mangalapura.

Mangalore lies between the ghats to the east and the sea to the west. It is lulled by the gentle breeze of the Arabian Sea in summer, but lashed by the furious rain-bearing winds during the monsoon (June to September). Mangalore is blessed with abundant rivers – Netravati, Gurpur, Gangolli, Sitanadi and Swarnanadi. The rich alluvial deposits on either side of the river banks provide fertile soil for paddy cultivation. 4.Chikmagaluru

Chikmagalur district has a huge number of coffee estates, and is rightly considered to be the coffee hub Karnataka.

5. Hampi

A UNESCO world heritage site, Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. It is situated on the banks of river Tungabhadra in Karnataka The ruins of the palaces in Hampi , the temples and the royal buildings stand testimony to the wealth and grandeur of the Vijayanagar Emperors. The name Hampi is derived from the ancient name of Tungabhadra river, Pampa, the daughter of Lord Brahma. The town is locally known as the town of Pampa.

6. Shimoga

7. Udupi

8. Uttara Kannada

Uttara Kannada or North Canara (North Kanara), located on the western coast with 140 Km length of Coastal line. Uttara Kannada has varied geographical features with thick forest, perennial rivers and rich in flora and fauna. 80% of the district is covered by forest. Major forest in Uttara Kannada district is concentrated in Joida, Yellapur,Sirsiand,Ankola   Taluks.

9. Bijapur

10. Hassan

The place is called Hassan after the Goddess “Haasanamba”, the goddess and presiding deity of the town. The history of Hassan district is essentially the history of two of the well known dynasties that have ruled Karnataka, the Western Ganga Dynasty of Talkad (350 – 999 CE) and the Hoysala Empire (1000 – 1334 CE).

The place to visit in Hassan are as follows Hoysala temple , Gorur Dam, shettyhalli church,Shri Ranganatha temple.
